Thank you for your inquiry for the application process for international students entering School District No. 78 (Fraser-Cascade).  Please note the following information:

Applications for new international students must be processed by June 30 for the following school year.  Please include a copy of the students’ last report card and a letter from the principal or teacher outlining the student’s marks and studies with your application.

1.      Once School District No. 78 receives the Request for Admission of Student from Outside Canada form and the questionnaire we will pass the content information on to the Home stay Coordinator who will find a suitable Canadian guardian and home stay.

 2.      School District No. 78 will send you a letter requesting the tuition fees.  Currently, the tuition fee for the current school year is $10,000 (Canadian) or $1,000 per month.  A cheque is to be made out to:

School District No. 78 (Fraser-Cascade)
650 Kawkawa Lake Road
Hope, BC  V0X 1L4, Canada

Alternatively, the tuition and home stay fees may be electronically wired to the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), Hope, British Columbia.  The account number for School District No. 78 (Fraser-Cascade) is 05020 010 37 02219.  If you decide to wire the tuition and home stay fees to the CIBC, you are responsible for any service charges that are imposed by the bank.

3.      The completed application form, references and academic record, the guardianship form, and tuition fees, must be in place before the student receives a School District No. 78 (Fraser-Cascade) letter allowing the student to obtain a visa to enroll in the school’s programme.

4.      The student may take a variety of courses, including those in the graduation programme.  Course selection is worked out with the student and the school counselors based on the student’s needs and graduation requirements.  The Fraser-Cascade School District arranges its school system based on student and school needs.  Student programmes are worked out at the school site with the school counselor and/or administrator.

5.      Every student has to have BC medical insurance, which takes approximately three months to receive.  As students have to be physically in Canada to apply for it, it is recommended that they carry medical insurance for at least three months from their own country and apply for BC medical insurance immediately upon their arrival.  All students are to submit the copy of the medical insurance from their country as soon as they arrive.

6.      We do not have any commission policy, although we have a refund policy attached to this document.  If you need more information or if you have further questions about School District No. 78 (Fraser-Cascade), please contact the District at
