The following steps will guide you smoothly through the admissions process for School District No. 78’s registration process for the International Study Program:
Step 1
Please contact the District Contact person to inquire if there is space available in the program which interests you. You will be notified if space is available.
Step 2
Please complete and submit the following:
Student Application Form (4
pages) which includes a Homestay Questionnaire and a Student Agreement form.
If your application is accepted, we will send you a Letter of Offer which informs you of the fees payable and instructions for payment. A suitable Homestay will be suggested.
Step 3
To confirm your student’s placement, pay the fees by cheque or money wire according to your Letter of Offer.
Step 4
Once we receive your fees, you will receive a Letter of Acceptance that confirms your student’s placement. With this letter, you may apply for a Student Visa (Study Permit) at the Canadian Embassy nearest you.
Step 5
Every student must have BC medical insurance, which takes approximately three months to receive. Because students must be physically in Canada to receive this insurance, the District will provide medical insurance for the students and we will assist students to apply for BC Medical which will cover the balance of their stay in Canada.
For further information, please don’t hesitate to contact us at School District No. 78.
