HomeStay is the heart of the International Study Program. With the support of the District HomeStay Coordinator, students are welcomed into the homes of responsible local host families as if they are new family members.
Host families are expected to treat visiting students as if they are one of their own children, and students are expected to become part of the host families’ activities and follow the families’ rules.
HomeStays are wonderful cultural immersion opportunities that offer students a welcoming, secure home base and enhance English language development. Enduring friendships are formed, and the students and hosts to learn about each other’s lives, language and cultures.
Mandatory HomeStay Forms
- Student Application Form (4 pages including HomeStay Questionnaire and Student Agreement)
- Custodianship Declaration — to be completed by parent/guardian.
- Guardianship Form — to be completed by Canadian Custodian.
